section of the Bible. So let's start in a word of prayer. Father, thank you for just the freedom that we have to meet.

Thank you for this place that we have to meet and I just thank you for each of these men who have

come.

I pray that you would bless them immeasurably in Christ that you would use your word today in a powerful

sanctifying way in our lives. So Father we commit ourselves, we commit this time to you, we ask your blessing upon all that we do now.

Fill me with your spirit in Christ's name.

Okay, 1st John, chapter 3, and today I have us queued up for verses 11 through 13.

We'll see how this works out. 1 John 3, 11 through 13. The title of this is

evidence of new life. Evidence of new life.

Let me read these verses, beginning in verse 11.

For this is the message which you have heard from the beginning

that we should love one another, not as Cain who was of the evil one

and slew his brother.

And for that reason, and for what reason did he slay him?

And because his deeds were evil and his brothers were righteous.

Do not be surprised, brethren, if the world hates you.

So in these verses, we see the evidence of new life in Christ.
