| 0:07.6 | mind aligned with the truth of God. And I also hope you've been blessed by the series we |
| 0:12.5 | just wrapped up about the issue of anxiety and what Jesus himself taught about anxiety. |
| 0:18.3 | Today we're going to be beginning a new series about your identity in Christ as a believer |
| 0:24.8 | in Jesus Christ. But before we get there, I just wanted to highlight that the morning |
| 0:29.0 | mindset is heard around the world. And today I was looking at the map just out of curiosity |
| 0:34.5 | in light of the global conflicts that are going on. And I noticed that we have had a significant |
| 0:40.0 | number of downloads from Ukraine and a significant number from Russia, not just during this time, |
| 0:46.1 | but over the whole course of the morning mindset. And I just feel our brothers and sisters |
| 0:50.8 | in Christ need our support if they are in one of those two countries. So friends, please join me |
| 0:55.7 | at the end of this episode. I just want to say a brief prayer after the music fades for that |
| 1:01.0 | situation and for the people that are there. All right, let's dive into this issue of identity |
| 1:07.0 | in Christ. You know, we all have an identity, you know, for the moment we are conscious of ourselves |
| 1:13.8 | as a small child. We are forming and shaping our concept of who we are. And there's one sense in |
| 1:21.4 | which who we perceive ourselves to be is always going to be skewed because we don't see ourselves |
| 1:27.2 | rightly. We don't always see the blessing and the benefit that comes from the life that God has |
| 1:32.6 | given us and the natural talents and gifts that he's given us. But part of what happens in life |
| 1:38.6 | is that as we grow up and as we interact with the world, we're learning about ourselves and we're |
| 1:43.4 | not always learning the right things about ourselves. But we do come to a realization that without |
| 1:50.1 | Jesus, we are sinners. We do wrong. We have bad habits. We hurt people. We say things we wish we |
| 1:57.2 | hadn't said. All of those sorts of things are evidence that part of our identity, which is a reality |
| 2:03.4 | as a human being, is that we are sinners. We are sinners who are helpless to do anything about |
