All right, today we are continuing with our series about our identity in Jesus. Now,

identity is something that's important. We all carry an ID around with us to let people

know who we are to prove to people who we are. In the scripture is full of statements

about who we are as children of the King of Kings. Now, I want to encourage you to

consider that statement alone. You are a child of the King of Kings. Jesus, you are his.

And our passage today, first John, chapter five, verse number one says as much. Listen

to this. It says everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God.

Okay, now let's stop and think about that for a moment. Do you believe that Jesus is

the Christ? We should probably define that term Christ for those of you who are not familiar

with it. We often use it as if it's his middle name or his last name, Jesus Christ,

but that's not the case. Christ is actually a title and it means Messiah or Savior.

So everyone who believes that Jesus is the Messiah or is the Savior has been born of God.

Now, what does that mean? It takes a little more unpacking here than we might think. The

Messiah or the Savior is the one sent from God to deal with our sin problem. So each of
