Hello my friends, welcome back to the morning mindset. I hope you're ready to get your

mind aligned with God's truth today. We are in the midst of a study about our identity

in Christ. So in other words, who are we because of what Jesus has done for us? That's

the question that we're asking. And we're looking at various scriptures to find out

to be looking at an aspect of our identity that we don't commonly think about. And it

is that we are joined to Jesus. Now, that idea of being joined to someone or to something

is something we can conceptualize. I mean, back on May 20th, 1989, I was joined to my

wife in the bonds of marriage, right? That is something in our culture that serves as an

illustration of what it means to be joined to another person. It's an agreement, but it's

more than an agreement, right? It's a covenant. It's a connection with that other person

in a deep, intimate way, where both parties are committing themselves to the benefit and

welfare of the other. In some way, shape or form, the type of covenant is going to determine

what that is. Now, in this instance, we're talking about being joined to Jesus. Let's

look at 1st Corinthians 6, verse 17. Now, let me set the context for you here. Paul is in

the midst of instructing the believers in a city called Corinth about sexual immorality.

And he's trying to show them why sexual immorality is wrong. And he's just said that anyone

who joins themselves to a prostitute, okay? So he's talking about a sexual union there.

Anyone who joins himself to a prostitute is one with her or with him. There are male
