Welcome to our new project, the Daily Bible Devotional. The goal is to help you understand and apply

scripture as you go through a New Testament Bible read five days a week, Monday through Friday,

as we move from Matthew straight through to Revelation. In under four minutes each morning, we will recap the chapter,

make some application, present thought questions for the day, and offer a prayer together.

Welcome to one of the most beautiful and well-known chapters in all of Scripture, 1 Corinthians 13.

Love is the premier quality and focus in the life of a believer.

While spiritual gifts like prophecy, tongues, and knowledge held value, they were insignificant without love.

Nothing disciples do has value unless infused with love.

Love is fundamental to all Christian actions and relationships.

Paul describes love as patient, kind, and selfless.

It is never envious, boastful, or prideful.

Love does not dishonor others, seek its own advantage or delight in evil, but rejoices in the truth.

It always protects and trusts, hopes, and endures.

Supernatural spiritual gifts were temporary and would cease to exist once the complete revelation of God was revealed.

However, love is eternal and will last beyond this life. Quote, but now, faith, hope,

love, abide these three, but the greatest of these is love. Christians in the first century

had supernatural spiritual gifts. However, even those gifts held no value without heartfelt love.

Today, we possess various abilities and knowledge.

We can achieve great things, such as helping the poor and making personal sacrifices, but those

actions only hold significance if driven by love for God and love for others. God calls for our patience,

kindness, and enduring faith in others.
