Summary

The Word tells us not to be conformed to the world but rather, be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Having a bad attitude keeps you from having the future God wants you to have. Attitudes are chosen and not caused by our circumstances. Having a good attitude is Christ-like and a witness to those around you. Welcome to Marriage Day podcast. I'm Jimmy Evans. This is my wife, Karen. And this podcast

0:09.3

exists to help every couple thrive in marriage. We're glad that you've joined us. We're

0:14.0

talking today, Karen, about I changed my mind. This is a series of messages talking

0:19.2

about changing our thinking. Okay. And this program today is about our attitude, the importance

0:24.5

of our attitude. Now this is, and this is the truth now, and I've been preaching for

0:28.8

40 years. If I could only bring three messages, this would be one of them. Your attitude

0:34.7

determines your success in life more than any other issue, any other issue. And so we're

0:40.6

talking about attitudes and marriage, your attitude dramatically affects whether you're

0:46.3

going to succeed or fail. Okay. So we're going to talk about that. I think we have some

0:49.8

questions. Let me read one to you first. This is from our listeners. My wife and I have

0:55.7

been married for 16 years. And sometimes we don't feel like I'm married a couple anymore,

but just feel like we're roommates. How can we break this cycle and feeling? Well, I think

1:06.1

every couple goes through this. I mean, you get in a rut, same thing, routine, working,

1:11.1

coming home, eating, sleeping. And I think for you and I, what helps is we get out of the routine.

1:18.2

We get step out like, you know, we started going to the gun range or we go to movies. And you

1:23.5

know, like you always say, date night is so important. And you know, you just find little things.

1:28.6

I mean, little things mean a lot. You know, like sometimes I'll just say, hey, let's go see

1:32.1

on the back porch tonight. And you know, just if you get out of those ruts, you know, it's a simple

1:38.3

simple fix, you know, just be creative and just find new ways. Yeah. And it's just how can we

1:43.6

break the cycle and feeling? Because when you just keep the same cycle going, it's going to

1:50.7

produce the same feeling. And so the other thing is caring that what we did for many years is

1:57.2

when I was super busy and when our kids were teenagers, every six weeks to two months, we
