Amen. Hey, what's going on? Alex here. Do you belong to God? In Matthew 13, 36, 243, we're going to be

looking at this very question as we explore the need for belonging, the problem that we find with

belonging, and the solution to know whether or not you belong to God. So let's do it. Matthew 1336. Then leaving the crowds

outside, Jesus went into the house. His disciples said, please explain to us the story of the weeds

in the field. Then Jesus replied, the son of man is the farmer who plants the good seed. The field is the

world. The good seed represents the people of the kingdom. The weeds are the people who belong to the

evil one. The enemy who planted the weeds among the wheat is the devil. The harvest is the end of the

world. And the harvesters are the angels. Just as the weeds are sorted out and burned in the fire,

so it will be in the end of the

world. So stop right there. In these verses, we see the need for belonging. We need to belong to Jesus,

because why? To not burn. If you don't belong to God, you're going to burn. That's what he says here.

He says the story of the wheat and the wheels, what it wheat wheat in the weeds, in the field, what it all means is the weeds represent those who belong to Satan and they're going to be burned as the angels come and reap them, take them, and throw their souls into hell. We don't want to burn. We want to belong. Not only do we not want to burn physically

throughout all of eternity, but we want to not burn inside. There's a burning that happens inside

of us when we don't belong to God. Now, here's an example of that. Luke chapter 22, verse 48.

But Jesus said, Judas, would you betray the son of man with a kiss? So this is in the

Garden of Gassimony before Jesus dies on the cross before he gets arrested. Judas betrays Jesus,

comes to Jesus and kisses him on the cheek. Now, that wouldn't be weird or suss back then because

Paul says greet each other with a holy kiss. Back then, this is just

something that they would do. They kiss each other on the cheek, the forehead, whatever. It was a,

it was a masculine thing. It was a beautiful thing. That isn't, what's weird about this, what's weird

is that he comes straight up to Jesus and greets him with a kiss. Now, Judas is a student.

Jesus is a rabbi.
