Summary

When it comes to Church membership, many of today's Christians want to come and go without accountability. They want the Church to be there for them if and when they need it. They want the benefits without involvement -- the privileges without responsibilities. And so they hop from church to church. In "I Belong," a five-part series, Michael Youssef explains the importance of being an active member of the Church. He urges you to ask our heavenly Father, "What would You have me do to belong?" And He illustrates the vital importance of discovering God's plan for your life and using that plan to build the kingdom of God.

0:00.0	Some of you may have seen this commercial on television that has been showing on several
0:06.5	television stations and is run by one of the mainline denominations. And it is designed,
0:14.4	the commercial is designed to invite all people of all kinds to come to their churches. So far so good, church must always be welcoming
0:25.1	of everybody. But then the commercial concludes by saying something to the effect
0:31.8	that God is diversity and diversity is God. What is this all about? I mean, what is happening here? For the
0:40.8	past 20 years or so, there has been a phenomenon that is sweeping through the older denominations
0:46.7	in America, namely that the gospel of diversity of belief. Now, you must understand now, I'm not saying diversity of people,
0:56.8	but diversity of belief has eclipsed the gospel of Jesus Christ, that the gospel of
1:06.1	inclusiveness of all belief system has superseded the gospel of Jesus Christ. What is happening today right
1:16.9	across the board is there are many people in the professing church are confusing and twisting
1:26.6	biblical concepts that are wonderful concepts to preach another gospel.
1:33.8	Biblical concepts such as love and tolerance and diversity are twisted and tortured
1:42.3	to mean something very different from what the Bible intends to mean
1:47.5	by them. The Bible has a word for that. It is called idolatry. That's what the Bible calls
1:55.9	it from cover to cover, and you and I need to be aware of it. Listen to me. The greatest challenge that
2:04.8	believers in the 21st century are facing, not atheism, not agnosticism, not out and out
2:12.2	unbelief. For we know exactly where those folks stand, and our job is to love them and care for them
2:18.5	and show them the Christ in our lives. But the real challenge for the 21st century believer
2:25.0	is the false belief system that has crept into the churches. False belief systems that have
2:33.1	impacted many appropriate today. False belief systems that have invaded
2:39.7	many of former Christian institutions today. A false belief system that promoted by many a preacher
2:47.7	today. False belief system that is so appealing to our emotions, that are so
