My phone buzzes and I look down. I'm like, oh, it's so late. Who the heck would this be at 1130 at night?

It's my daughter. First of all, nice parenting. What am I doing with my daughter who's 14 years old?

She has her cell phone with her and she's telling me, hey, can you take us to our friend's house tomorrow?

I said, listen, if you don't get up for school, you're going nowhere tomorrow. And it's an hour and a half past your bedtime.

So I probably wouldn't be asking for any of this right this second.

Well, what ensued this morning, not only did it make me laugh, but it gave me a chance to realize,

hey, there's some parenting changes that have got to go on around here.
