Yo! Technology. What is it all about?

That sound in the background is a very, very fast train,

barreling through the countryside of Japan.

I just got back.

It was my first time there, and I have to admit I went with some trepidation. My wife and I were traveling with our seven-month-old son.

And of course it's a 16-hour time difference. We've been trying desperately to get him to sleep through the night.

And of course there'd be lots of planes, trains, and automobiles, different language.

We just didn't know how it was going to go.

But as anyone who has ever been to Japan probably could have predicted, it was great.

The food was fabulous, the temples were impressive.

Tokyo is an experience all on its own.

And our son, Cole, handled the time change like a champ.

And he was possibly the most popular

man in Japan.

The Japanese apparently love babies.

But the trip also got me thinking, what if you could put Japan's world-class transport

system on steroids?
