Summary
There is a lot of economic uncertainty in the air right now and fear of hyperinflation.
U.S. Inflation is well over 5% this year and entrepreneurs worry about price distortion and the buying power of their dollar.
But hyperinflation is defined as a period of time in which prices have risen by more than 50% per month for several months and we are very far from that.
In this podcast Ryan Moran shares his thoughts on what is happening in our economy, what to do about inflation, and seeks out where the opportunities lie in our shifting world.

| 0:00.0 | Hi, everyone. Welcome to the capitalism.com podcast. Today we're going to talk about hyperinflation |
| 0:09.9 | and all of the economic uncertainty that is happening right now. Jack Dorsey tweeted about |
| 0:16.2 | hyperinflation being inevitable, and inflation is well over a reported 5%, although some people think |
| 0:24.2 | that it is much higher than that. |
| 0:26.5 | And the result that I am seeing is just a lot of uncertainty around my fellow entrepreneurs, |
| 0:32.4 | and it makes sense why. |
| 0:34.2 | Inflation distorts the price of anything and makes it difficult for people like you and me |
| 0:39.6 | to make educated decisions about our businesses. And it is really flippin' scary to think about |

| 0:52.2 | by a government that you can't control. It's really scary to |
| 0:56.4 | think about that. It feels really uncertain during times like this about how to plan for the future, |
| 1:01.9 | what to invest in, and it also creates an environment in which we are more incentivized to take risks, |

| 1:15.5 | it would make sense to borrow everything that you have against your house and against all the |
| 1:20.2 | stocks that you have and to buy more stock or Bitcoin or Ethereum. And at the same time, |
| 1:26.5 | inflation has pushed those things to such highs |
| 1:30.0 | that it's scary to do that. And so we feel like we are caught in this rock and a hard place |
| 1:35.6 | where it makes sense to risk everything and yet it makes no sense to risk anything. |
| 1:42.0 | It's a really scary time. It's a really hard time for people like you and me |
| 1:45.8 | to make educated decisions about our businesses. What's the price of our cost of goods going to be? |
| 1:51.4 | Are we going to be able to ship things? Are they going to get caught at the border somewhere? |
| 1:55.4 | Is there going to be new legislation that taxes are unrealized gains? What's about to happen here? What I hope to give you in this |
