New week, new hurdle moment. My name's Emily Abadi. You are listening to Hurdle, a podcast that talks to everyone from

entrepreneurs to CEOs and athletes about how they got through tough times, hurdles of sorts, by leaning into wellness.

It's Wednesday, which means it is hurdle moment time. And this week, I am chatting about the 30 lessons I learned before 30,

which feels kind of like I'm twisting the truth a little bit. I, uh, my birthday's on Sunday.

I'm turning 31 and I'm be lying if I didn't admit that I'm feeling some kind of way about that.

I feel like when I got to 30, I felt optimistic and excited and just like the world was

my oyster. And it's not that I don't feel like the world is my oyster anymore. I just kind of

feel like 31 is a little bit closer to 40. I will say that despite the uncertainty that comes

with adding another year, I can say for sure

that I've learned a lot of things along the way, many of which I would have killed to know

maybe five, ten years ago.

So with that said, I'm not going to bore you too much with rambling this week.

And with that, let's get to this week's hurdle moment. Well, I didn't make a 30 under 30 list, which is okay. No big deal. There's still a lot of other things I'm proud of in my 30 years on this earth. But what I will say is that by now, I can say with some confidence

that I've been around the block a little bit. You know, I've been doing this career woman thing

for over 10 years now. And I've been on my own being my own boss for almost three. And in that

time, I've learned a whole lot about myself,

about interacting with others, about how to get, hopefully, what it is that I want in this
