The killing started in Indianapolis.

On April 8, 1992, 26-year-old Robin Foldhauer was by herself in the Payless Shoe Store she managed. The business was right next door to a busy gas station, but no one seems to have noticed when a man came

into the shoe store, shot Robin to death, and then disappeared.

But he was only getting started.

Over the next month, this unknown killer would murder a total of six people in stores in Indiana, Kansas, and Missouri.

Because his victims tended to be in areas easily accessible by the highway,

he became known as the I-70 killer.

Not much is known about him or his motives. He did not sexually assault his victims. He did not steal large amounts of money from the businesses.

Many suspect he may have murdered for nothing more than the joy of

killing. We've covered this case before. We did an extensive interview with Mike Crook, one of the key investigators on the case. We will link to those

episodes in our show notes. Today we will talk with Bob Cyphers, a reporter who has been on this story from the very beginning.
