Would you go with me to First Corinthians this evening, please?

The 12th chapter, 1 Corinthians, chapter 12.

For some weeks now, we've been on the subject of being hungry for the Holy Spirit.

Somebody say that out loud.

Hungry for the Holy Spirit. Somebody say that out loud. Hungry for the Holy Spirit.

And we are responding to the Lord's instructions to us through the word.

He told us to do something.

And we've been doing it.

And believing to do it even more.

And here's what it is in the text, 1 Corinthians, 12 and 31.

He said, but covet earnestly the best gifts.

And yet show I unto you a more excellent way what do he tell us to do covet earnestly what gifts gifts gifts of what well what he'd been talking about the whole chapter previous, the gifts of the spirit.

He specifically mentions nine gifts of the spirit.

Word of wisdom.

Word of knowledge.

Discerning the spirits.

Special faith.

No, they are not. In fact, sadly, we are the small minority that even talk about them.

A whole lot of Christians, people that they're born again, they love God, they go to church,

believing to go to heaven when they die.

But they never hear about the gifts of the Spirit.
