Mark chapter 8, verse 14 through 17 in the New Living Translation of the Scriptures, you'll notice there these words.

But the disciples had forgotten to bring any food. They had only one loaf of bread with them in the boat.

And as they were crossing the lake, Jesus warned them, watch out.

Beware of the yeast of the Pharisees and of Herod.

At this they began to argue with each other because they hadn't brought any bread.

And Jesus knew what they were saying.

So he said, why are you arguing about having no bread?

Don't you know or understand even yet?

Are your hearts too hard to take it in?

And we're speaking today from the subject simply hungry again.

Hungry again. Hallelujah. You may be seated. It is interesting that there are always consequences for forgetting to bring food with you when you're on a journey.

You know, somehow if you've got some food, it can just make the journey more enjoyable,

particularly if you're going on a long journey.

And then you'll notice in verse 16 that the disciples began to argue with each other, not because

of some religious or philosophical difference, but they began to argue with each other

because they forgot to bring the fruit.

Now, this is the ironic part of it, is that in the first 20 verses of the chapter,

Jesus had just worked one of the most spectacular miracles of his whole ministry,

which was multiplying the fish and bread.

He took seven pieces of bread and a few small fish and fed an audience of 4,000 people,

and they had seven baskets of leftovers.
