It felt to me that if I could make my body smaller, then in some ways it was like a corollary

just sorting out this mess inside. And as I shrunk my body, it felt like I was shrinking

that mess inside too. It brings a world that is chaotic and frightening and where I feel ashamed

and broken and don't understand. It gives me a way of managing that and dealing with it.

But when you meet the Lord of the universe,

and he is beautiful and he is not like you expect,

wasn't this sort of angry God at a distance,

he was a God whose kindness floored me.

You know, it wasn't a fist that brought me to my knees,

it was his kiss.
