Before I say anything else, I think we've mentioned a few times.

But as long as we are still in the traditional branding of Kate and my show, let's

jump right into this because we've had a lot of news since we talked to you last when we were in

Austin, Texas, a week ago. Eric's Wellwell. I have never seen a collapse of a political campaign or a political career this fast.

And I kind of say that like regardless of the wrongdoing.

You know, one thing that was really striking to me is that his top, the top staffers of his

campaign, the no longer the case campaign for governor of California and of his house office,

which also no longer exists since he's resigned for Congress, like a day and a half into this, actually they released a statement, a joint statement in

which they basically said, this is terrible, this must end.

Some of us have life responsibility so we can't quit yet, but like we would if we could.

Normally, your top people will hang on longer than that. Well, you know, for any number of

reasons, uh, will not pull the plug that quickly. And I suspect, despite the gravity of the, um,

accusations against him, that has to be that these people were not

terribly surprised by what happened. Otherwise, I think they would have held out a little longer.

Kate, walk us through. I've react. We haven't gone over the details to the extent that anybody out there doesn't know them

already.

But walk us through what happened over the last week.

And a week ago was a kind of a rising, you know, member of the house and kind of quasi

frontrunner to be an ex-governor in California.
