This week, we hear from Peter Lewis reminding us to be humble, gentle, and lowly, just like Jesus.

When Jesus came, he told us that his yoke is easy and his burden is light. And Peter calls us to remember

that if our souls are feeling heavy and harsh and difficult, that we need to belong. We need to learn

to belong to Jesus. So I bless you guys as you listen to Peter deliver this message that you would

be gentle, lowly, and easy and light. In Jesus' name. Matthew 11, 29, if you get your Bibles.

Matthew 11. Oh, you're not going to grab it? Okay. I wanted him to awkwardly grab it.

Matthew 11, 29. I'm going to read this. I'm going to just be to the point this morning

because we don't have a ton of time. Matthew 11, 29 to 30.

You can throw it up on the screen.

Jesus said this.

He said, take my yoke upon you and learn from me,

for I am gentle and humble in heart.

And you will find rest for your souls.

For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

I'll read it one more time. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me. Jesus said this. He said, take my yoke.

That word yoke is a, it was referring to oxen. Oxen would wear a wooden harness that would carry the burden.

And he's using that agrarian analogy to a people who would have understand what a yoke is.

It would be something that would have been on the oxen.

And so Jesus is saying, I have a yoke, and I want you to take my yoke upon you and learn.

Meaning you have something to learn from me.
