0:33.6 | podcast for today. We are talking about humility and I'm just so excited to go into the word with you and I know I've been encouraged in the word that I'm going to get to talk about with you all and so I pray that you all are encouraged as well. So, friends, without further ado, faith comes by hearing so grab your headphones and let's get into the word. |
1:03.6 | So I'm going to start off reading today in Daniel chapter 4, starting in verse 4. So what's going on right now is there's this king, King Nebuchadnezzar. He is the king of Babylon and right now the people of the Lord are being held in captivity by the Babylonians. And King Nebuchadnezzar, he is like the king that has, he is very legit. |
1:28.6 | He's basically got all the power, all of the status, all the fame, all the money that you could ever think on this earth, this king has it. And he has this dream. So starting in verse 4 is where we're going to pick up in Daniel chapter 4. |
1:44.6 | I, Nebuchadnezzar, was at ease in my house and prospering in my palace. I saw a dream that made me afraid. As I lay in bed, the fancies and the visions of my head alarmed me. So I made it a cre that all the wise men of Babylon should be brought before me, that they might make known to me the interpretation of the dream. |
2:05.6 | Then the magicians, the enchanters, the childans and the astrologers came in and I told them the dream, but they could not make known to me its interpretation. |
2:15.6 | At last, Daniel came in before me. Now just side note, Daniel is a man of the Lord. He is a Jew. He is, he has been a part of the kingdom of Babylon for a long time because a lot of the strong, healthy Jewish men were brought in to help out in the kingdom as God's people were held in captivity. |
2:34.6 | So that is why Daniel is there and throughout Daniel's time and captivity serving in this kingdom, Daniel has been made known to be a man of God and he has been made known to be a man who is very good at interpreting interpreting dreams because the Lord gives him the wisdom and the insight to do so. |
2:54.6 | So starting at verse eight, at last, Daniel came in before me, he who was named Belchesezar after the name of my God and in whom is the spirit of the Holy Gods and I told him the dream saying, oh, Belchesezar, I think I'm saying that right. You just gotta say it confidently. Oh, Belchesezar. |
3:15.6 | Chief of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the Holy Gods is in you and that no mystery is too difficult for you, tell me the visions of my dream that I saw in their interpretation. |
3:27.6 | The vision, the visions of my head as I lay in bed were bees. I saw and behold a tree in the midst of the earth and its height was great. The tree grew and became strong and its top reached to heaven and it was visible to the end of the whole earth. |
3:44.6 | Its leaves were beautiful and its fruit abundant and in it was food for all. The beasts of the field found shade under it and the birds of the heavens lived in its branches and all flesh was fed from it. |
3:57.6 | I saw in the visions of my head as I lay in bed and behold a watcher, a holy one, came down from heaven. |
4:05.6 | He proclaimed aloud and said thus, chop down the tree and lop off its branches, strip off its leaves and scatter its fruit, let the beasts flee from under it and the birds from its branches, but leave the stump of its roots in the earth. |
4:21.6 | Bound with a band of iron and bronze amid the tender grass of the field, let him be wet with the dew of heaven, let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth, let his mind be changed from a man's and let a beast's mind be given to him and let seven periods of time pass over him. |
4:41.6 | The sentence is by the decree of the watchers, the decision by the word of the holy ones to the end that they living may know that the most high rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will and sets over it the loliest of men. |
4:57.6 | This dream I never King Nebuchadnezzar saw and you Obel Chezazar or Daniel tell me the interpretation so King Nebuchadnezzar everything I just read to you was his dream so King Nebuchadnezzar has just shared all this information with Daniel and like basically dude what does this mean. |
5:17.6 | He says tell me the interpretation because all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known to me the interpretation, but you are able for the spirit of the holy gods is in you. |
5:29.6 | Starting in verse 19, then Daniel, whose name was Belchezazar was dismayed for a while and his thoughts alarmed him the king answered and said Belchezazar let not the dream or the interpretation alarm you. |
5:43.6 | Belchezazar answered and said my lord may the dream be for those who hate you and it's interpretation for your enemies the tree you saw which grew and became strong so that it's top reach to heaven and it was visible to the end of the whole earth whose leaves were beautiful and it's fruit abundant and in which was food for all under which beast of the field found shade and in whose branches the birds of the heavens lived. |
6:11.6 | It is you O King who have grown and become strong so what he was basically saying here is that this tree that was so strong and prosperous literally it was shade for all the animals it was a the home and its branches were the home for the birds with the birds would make their nest it provided food for everybody like this tree was strong prosperous and plentiful and it was a representation of King Nebuchadnezzar |
