Hey, welcome to the Daily Drive podcast. My name is a bro, and we spend a few minutes each weekday

trying to get to know God a little better and apply some wisdom to our

lives. And for the last few days, we've been walking through the story of a young woman named Esther,

and we've been doing it in like Netflix binge-watching style. And just for a quick recap, the principal

characters are Esther, this young Jewish orphan that is selected as the new queen of Persia, Mordecai, her

adoptive father, a good man who works at the palace gate, Haman, this egomaniac villain who hates

Mordecai, and plans to annihilate the Jewish people as payback for Mordecai's refusal to bow

down to him, and King Xerxes, who rules the Persian Empire.

Now, if you need to fill in all the blanks, go back and give a quick listen, or you can read

the entire story in the pages of the Old Testament of the Bible.

And we just got a few more episodes, and today we're going to pull up episode six, recall

it insomnia, or sleepless ensuesa.

Esther, Chapter 6 says this, That night, the king had trouble

sleeping, so he ordered an attendant to bring the book of the history of his reign so it could be read to him.

I just think that's funny. I can't sleep. Let's read a book about me. And guess which story is read?

It was the one about Mordecai saving the king's life from those two guards that were plotting to kill him. And the king asked us the tenants that were

reading, did we ever reward or recognize Mordecai for this? And they say, well, not really,
