What are the necropants?

So today we're going to talk about a very interesting topic.

We're going to talk about staves, which are sigils,

that are talked about in Viking lore and specifically in Iceland.

But as a product of these staves, there is this mysterious item called the Necropants or the Nauprook.

And they are a pair of pants, and they're made from the skin of a dead human and they're believed

in Icelandic witchcraft to be capable of producing endless supply of money.

Now, we will get into that towards the back end of the episode where we break down the lore

of the necropants, these now pruk. But to get there, we need to talk

about where the necropants are being showcased, because there's a literal pair that's being

showcased in Iceland right now. And this place is called the Strandalgador. And the Strandalgador is a

museum of Icelandic sorcery and witchcraft.

It is a privately operated and publicly accessible museum,

and it is dedicated to this Icelandic tradition of sorcery and witchcraft.

And in this museum, which they had started doing research on all of these different items in 1996,

before they opened it in 2000, they contain many different types of staves.

They even have the Tilbury, which we'll talk a little bit about today, and Icelandic grimores.

And we'll also talk about grimauders today as well.
