President Joe Biden said that America will soon begin air-dropping food into Gaza

where the UN estimates that over half a million people are on the brink of famine.

Quote, we're going to pull out every stop we can, Mr Biden said, noting that the supplies Gaza was receiving were inadequate.

On Thursday more than 100 people died according to Gaza's Health Ministry as thousands of hungry civilians surrounded an aid convoy.

Gazan authorities say Israeli soldiers shot them dead.

Israel says they died in a stampede.

Huge crowds gathered outside the funeral of Alexei Navani,

Russia's most prominent opposition leader.

Though only a few people were allowed to attend the service,

thousands cued to pay their respect to the cemetery,

where he was buried.

Dimitri Pescov, Vladimir Putin's spokesman, said that people who protested at the service would, quote, be held responsible under the law.

However, few were arrested.

Shares in New York Community Bank Corp fell by around 25% after the regional bank replaced its chief

executive.
