You feel like there's a growing chance that they're not only going to retain Duran Payne,

but do it under the current contract without any sort of restructure, extension, etc.

Yeah, that's what I wrote today.

That's my understanding right now.

You know, this has been a very interesting topic.

However many times you and I have talked about Duran Payne and his contract in the last

two years, I probably 99% of the time said I would imagine he's going to be released

after this season because of the cap number situation that you just laid out.

And it's a pretty compelling argument, right?

I mean, his cap number is going to be, as right now, the six highest for any defensive

tackle in the league next year.

He certainly has not performed at the high level, like, you know, one of the top 10 guys

in the league.

However, and this is a thought I've had over the last, like sort of last part of the

season involving pain, involving Bobby Wagner and Zach Ertz before they were hurt,

is like we can justify why they should be probably not back on the team next year,
