He's got to go quickly because Quinn's going to talk here in about 10 minutes here on this Friday,

heading into the game Sunday against the Giants.

You wrote on Substack that Dan Quinn should be safe, but history says,

not so fast, my friend. So elaborate on that, please. Yeah, so everybody keeps asking, do we think Dan Quinn's in trouble? You asked me the other day, just you were asking me sort of just generally, what do I think? And people keep saying that, and I'm like, come on now, I don't believe it. I mean, last year did happen. He gets

on the credit for that, and he gets a lot of blame, obviously, for what's gone wrong this year, but if we're going to blame injuries, then, you know, it's not, it's kind of out of the coaches, hands, all and all that. But if lost eight in a row, and to lose 12 in a row, if they lose out would be a pretty terrible taste in everybody's mouth into the off season,

not to mention, you know, of the eight, five have been by at least, you know, 20 points or more.

So I was like, let me look here.

What does history show us when coaches have, when teams have these really long losing streaks,

what does it look like?

And basically there has been 38 instances of teams losing 10 or more games

this century consecutively. And of those 38, there's about 24 that are sort of into one season.

Sometimes they overlap, you know, because this is the way it goes. But if it's the same coach,

I just sort of kept looking at it. And basically, of those 24 scenarios, the coach ends up getting fired during or after that season,

like 63% of the time.

And that's not a nothing number.

And of those, the ones that didn't get fired, almost all of them did within like the next year.

The only two exceptions were Zach Taylor and Marvin Lewis both with Cincinnati,

which is sort of running a different organization than everybody else.

So again, I don't think that he's in trouble, but, you know,

maybe you could have said the same thing about some of these other teams until they had some of these long losses.

I don't, looking at it, I don't think that any of the other coaches had anything like an NFC championship game appearance on their resume prior to him.
