2020, 2021, 2022 here in Washington during the Ron Rivera era, but also, of course, as you all know,

the son of Norv Turner grew up in northern Virginia when his dad was coaching our team in the

90s. We had Scott on the show back before the Super Bowl, told some great stories.

A lot of you enjoyed it. So I had him actually back on my podcast Friday, where we

had a chance to talk for about an hour. He was very generous with his time, but I cut out

25 minutes or so of what I thought was the best part. And there's some memory lane stuff here,

but then he gets into the draft. and you'll hear a lot of what he

thinks about jeremiah love at number seven uh potentially uh but we started off and i i went back

and asked him about what he kind of remembered about his father's first draft remember norv arrived

here after the richy pedibone season in 1993 the one season in which he was the head coach following Joe Gibbs' first retirement.

And it didn't go so well.

And Jack Kent Cook hired Norv Turner, who was the offensive coordinator for the two-time at that point, Super Bowl champion Dallas Cowboys.

It was, by the way, one of those moves in the moment where it's like, really, we're hiring

a Cowboys coach?

But there have been a long history, actually, of players going to and from each of the

organizations, even though they were the harshest and the, without question,

the fiercest of rivals in the NFL in 1994.
