An NFL exec in the Mike Sandoz story written on the athletic said about Washington's free agency

month. He said, quote, they are making a bunch of revolving door moves this year, which looks like

a panic to me, closed quote. Does it seem that way to you? It does not to me. It's not even close to

anything resembling panic. It's the wrong description. If he wants to say revolving door,

that really infers or implies a lot more one-year deals. And they did sign their fair share of one-year deals, nine of them, to be exact.

Now, I don't know what the Witherspoon or the Davidson signings last week,

what they looked like, I would assume their one-year deals.

That would be 11.

But they had a league high seven newcomers. They needed newcomers. Remember the team we

watched last year? I know a lot of those players weren't supposed to play, but even the ones

that were supposed to play that did, especially on defense, they added, of those seven

newcomers, a league high, six of them were to at least two-year

deals and only one to a four-year deal. Almost is identical to New England's off-season

last year, where Milton Williams got the only four-year deal. Then there were three-year deals, a couple of two-year deals, and a lot of one-year deals.

It's kind of the way roster construction works now.

Nothing about this says panic.

There's not, you know, a slew of players who were, you know, overpaid and for what they were.

before the seat, before free agency began in March, he was in the top 10 of all of them.
