In the opening quarter you guys passed on the long field goal, 57 yard kick there.

Obviously, new kicker, a long snapper.

I just curious, what went into that specific decision and have you kind of determined what range you have for Jake Moody at this point?

Yeah, it was definitely the former, not the latter.

So it was the snapper, new, kicker new.

And so I thought this is not the first one I want to try, you know, going into it.

So if we could get into that spot and I liked, you know, this is some field position where we can go,

we've got excellent special teams, you know, if we could pin them down, we'd go into that spot,

and that was the thought going in. There's certain, like, thresholds that we would try in, like, the regular part

of the game, and then obviously those extend at the end of the half or the end of the game. So

had it been the end of the half, that would have been well within, you know, his spots to go.

So yesterday on the show, I read the text that our friend Howard Gutman sent me. Howard, you know,

now actually a co-host with his son, Colin, on a postgame show down in Richmond. But he's the

former ambassador

to Belgium during the Obama years. He is a studio 54 original. He is written TV scripts. He's

acted. He's just, he's one of my favorite people to have conversations with. And Howard

texted me and said, I was surprised that you didn't mention what I thought was the most significant decision of the game.

And that decision being Quinn punting on fourth and eight at the Denver 39-yard line

on their opening drive of the game,

rather than kicking a 56 or 57-yard field goal with new kicker Jake Moody.

And he said, Howard said, what an indictment essentially on the new kicker.

That in today's day, kickers are kicking 56-57-yarders all the time, especially in close games.
