Ian Rappaport suggesting yesterday that Washington is hoping to interview Brian Flores for their vacant defensive coordinator job.

Brian Flores would be number one on my list of all of the defensive coordinators out there.

He's not a silver bullet answer.

They have no talent defensively.

They have to get players. They've got to add players that can make

plays. I would certainly love to see Dorrance Armstrong come off of that injury, come back from

that injury, and be the player that he was prior to the injury. But Dorrance Armstrong is a good player. He's not a scare the

other team player. They desperately have to be looking at adding a lot to that defense. It needs

a minimum of four to five new starters. I mean, some of you would say 11. I'm talking about what's realistic in one off season.

They've got to find four to five new starters in free agency.

Not necessarily going to happen in the draft unless it's your first round pick

because you don't typically get players to come in and contribute right away as second, third,

or fourth rounders. Sometimes you do. Sometimes you do. That first round pick, if it's a defensive

player, needs to be the right one, that's for sure. They've got to add some defensive

talent. They have the wherewithal with their cap space. But a defensive coordinator

can certainly coach it up, which it has not been coached up the last two years without

enough talent. But ultimately, he needs players. I mean, he needs, you know, some of the players

that even, you know, they had in Minnesota this year. I mean, he needs, you know, some of the players that even, you know, they had in Minnesota this year.

I mean, we saw some of those players in that 31 to nothing blowout loss.

We saw what Andrew Van Ginkle looks like.

We saw what Isaiah Rogers and Pace and Murphy Jr. look like.

What Jonathan Greenard looked like as a pass rusher who was basically timing up every snap count.
