The town of Uxbridge is in mourning as Officer 43-year-old Stephen Leporta died shortly

after midnight Wednesday when he was struck by a tractor trailer on route 146

northbound we talked about this yesterday before the police officer had been identified police say

Leporta was outside his car assisting another driver at the time they have yet to determine if

the tractor trailer driver will face charges Leporta is survived by his wife and 13 year old child

yeah we talked about this yesterday.

Some have been asking, I do want to launch a fundraiser for that family.

And we were in contact with the chief of police out there yesterday.

And that foundation wants to wait until, obviously, until the family decides what they want to do and all

that stuff but um i know a bunch of you want to want to give to that family so as soon as we uh

we get to go ahead we will do that but awful and that's what those guys and those women as we said

yesterday that's what they do regardless of the weather regardless of the time of day or evening

they're out there risking their lives, regardless of the time of day or evening,
