According to a post by the department, ITD said that Mark Lynn was working his second day as an inspector.

When a distracted driver drove through a construction zone,

they said the driver was in an SUV and was distracted by her dog in the back seat.

In a split second, Mark Glenn had two choices.

Jump over the hood or drop flat onto his back.

He chose the second option and dropped flat on his back.

They said Mark Glenn hit the deck and the vehicle just ran right over him. Everyone walked away unscathed. And Mark Glenn even finished his shift. Are you kidding? He was run over by the car, but the car did not hit him. Okay, so drove overhand. He dropped, laid flat. The car went over the top of him. He sits up and continues his work. I'll be honest, if I had to make that decision, I think I would go for the jump. It would not work, and I do know that, but I, the idea of laying down, I don't know, man, I would go for the jump.
