The New England Aquarium is trying something new and I am all for it.

They have created a retirement home for their penguins.

Oh, I don't know why they would need this, but I love it on the surface.

It's so cute.

So typically the life expectancy of a penguin is 10 to 15 years out in the wild. But if they're captured, it could go pretty high. They currently have six geriatric penguins that have current medical conditions that have

qualified them for the retirement community. And if you're wondering, well, what does that

look like? What does a penguin retirement

community even look like? Pickleball? No. It has flat areas with mats, so for soft landings. And there are

sloping ramps. So if you see where the younger penguins are, it's more of a drastic up and down.

But this one has mats for them to land on all the fun things.

So then on top of that, they also get special treatment.

This involves hydrated fish.

Now, this helps with their kidney health.

They also get eyedrops, foot treatments to prevent infections, acupuncture, and

physical therapy. Oh my gosh. That's pretty great to be a penguin, man. That's crazy.
