Summary

In this episode, I virtually sit down with Max Lugavere, NY Times best selling author of Genius Foods. We discuss learning from past relationships, love languages, why being kind is the most important trait of all, why not being healthy is a dealbreaker, how loss sparked his food curiosity, if we're hoping to date people similar to our parents, why eating well is a form of self respect, and more! This episode starts with a solo where I discuss why doubts are not okay, my fav places to go out sober, navigating upcoming holiday seasons with a SO, +1 wedding etiquette, why I knew my dress was the one, the best thing my fiancé shared at carolines, my attachment style and my SO’s, high school reunions, and more.

Hey guys, welcome back to We Met It Acme and happy

fucking Halloween. I don't know if you care about Halloween. I personally have a weird

0:15.1

relationship to Halloween for the past three years. So yesterday, October 30th was my three-year

0:23.0

anniversary of being of getting sober and being sober. So for some weird reason, three years ago

0:30.8

on Halloween, I decided it was a good time to stop everything, to stop drinking, to stop smoking.

0:39.4

I don't know. It just felt right. I don't know if that has anything to do with Halloween,

0:45.7

but it's funny because people who are sober and remember like their sobriety day where they stopped

0:51.8

everything, they sometimes will give that date like a sign, kind of give it a personality,

0:57.5

right? So my sobriety is a Scorpio, which is so funny because Scorpios are really intense. Like

1:05.3

they're all or nothing. They love you or they hate you. There is no in between. And ever since I

1:13.8

got sober, I have been nothing. I have not been all, right? You can choose all or nothing, do all

1:20.6

the drugs, drink all the things or do nothing. And I have been full, nothing, full stop. So it's

1:25.4

just really funny that it's Halloween also last night. I went out and celebrated, I guess my sobriety

1:32.4

and Halloween and Steven and I dressed up as Courtney and Travis, which I know what you're thinking.

1:38.3

Oh my God. So basic, everyone's going to be that, but it was that our squid game and like,

1:43.4

you know, how many original costumes can you think of? I also feel like he's tall and skinny

1:48.1

like Travis. So it was just like kind of perfect. Anyway, it was really into that moving along. But

1:57.1

I do hope that you eat a lot of candy today because you deserve it. We had a show at Caroline's

2:02.2

last week. It was so much fun. I somehow convinced my fiance to come up on stage and he was really

2:10.4

funny. And now to answer your question, someone said, what was the best thing your fiance shared

2:14.8

at the Caroline show? I would say he did share. He was very open and honest and vulnerable.
