And what a bummer it is to be part of the Highland Park Country Club, you know,

a North Shore suburb of Chicago. I know, I know, I'm bummed for you.

Apparently, they had a partnership with the nonprofit Alliance for Human Services,

and the organizers had planned to place participants into situations where they would have to make

tough choices about not having enough resources. Participants in this immersive experience will

begin to experience what a month in poverty feels like. Participants are put into situations

in which they don't have enough resources and are forced to make difficult choices that can

negatively impact them and their families. The outcome is hoped to have a bringing increased

awareness of the need for resources to support those living in poverty to create a more resilient

health human and education sector. And participation was to be free. They wanted you to register,

but the participation was free. And they were all ready to, you know, make it happen. And the

city manager said, hey, programs like this one are developed and presented by social service

professionals and are intended to bridge the gap because that's what you want. You want the

hoidy toits to be able to realize what it's like, you know, to have a month of poverty, don't you?

Yeah. Well, apparently, they canceled the event. I know, I'm bummed for them as well,

because I really would like to have all the, you know, members of the Highland Park Country Club

know what it's like to spend a month in poverty, wouldn't you? Oh, just we live in amazing times.
