Good morning my friends and welcome back to the morning mindset. We are here to

get our minds aligned with the truth of God and sometimes that truth is so deep it takes us multiple days, multiple weeks, multiple years even.

To digest it, to soak it in, to understand it on the level that makes a dramatic difference in our lives and today

we are dealing with one of those truths.

It's said beautifully by Jesus.

The imagery is just rich with color and vibrant strength.

Yet, making the transition between our way of logical, physical thinking

and the connection that thinking has to

spiritual truth is difficult. You're gonna see what it means we get into this.

Jesus has told us here in John 15, speaking of himself, I am the true vine and my father is the vine

dresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away and every

branch that does bear fruit he prunes that it may bear more fruit.

Already you are clean because of the word that I've spoken to you.

Abide in me and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself

unless it abides in the vine, neither can you unless you abide in me.

You see Jesus is portraying our relationship to him

through this imagery of a vine and branches.

We are the branches. And if you think about a

vine, the way it's constructed, the way nature creates it, actually God creates it,

not just nature. God has designed a vine that the branches are dependent on the trunk of the vine itself.

If you can Google a picture of a vine yard real quickly and the vine branches of a grapevine, you'll see there's a solid, big, thick trunk that comes up and out from it come these branches from which the fruit is born and hangs.
