0:55.1	beginning of time. But it's just so easy to get striving in our own strength. And how do you know
0:59.9	the difference between when you're abiding in the vine and you're striving in your strength?
1:04.2	Well, the condition of your soul. Are you full of peace and joy and rest and an assurance
1:09.1	that more rests on God's shoulders and on yours? Are you in
1:12.0	an angsty place, a striving place where you feel like you're at the mercies of men instead of
1:17.8	in the mercies of God? Well, you may wonder what we're talking about today, but I think you probably
1:22.3	guessed it about the abiding life. Jesus says, abide in me and I and you. As a branch cannot bear fruit unless it
1:29.5	abides in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you abide in me. I did a word study in that
1:35.2	word abide in John's Gospel chapter 15. In the word abide translates this way, to be held,
1:40.9	to be kept continually, to remain as one, and to wait on one. How do we live our busy lives
1:47.8	while we're living in full anticipation of God and his voice and direction in our lives,
