We continue with part two with our conversation with Jane

McAlibi. She's an organizer with the labor movement for more than 20 years, well

known for her books on the labor movement.

Jane McEllevy has written rules to win by power and participation

and union negotiations, written with Abby Lawler, also author of a collective bargain unions organizing

in the fight for democracy.

No shortcuts organizing for power in the new gilded age and the book Raising Expectations and

Raising Hell, My Decade Fighting for the Labor Movement.

Jane is also fighting for her life. She has multiple myeloma. She was

diagnosed a few years ago. Has been pronounced dead something like three times, but she is sitting here in the studio. She most recently

wrote a piece headlined I've stopped all work to turn to home-based hospice for the remainder

of my time.
