You have probably already heard that the Trump administration is refusing to send supplemental nutrition funding,

otherwise known as SNAP or food stamps, to the states.

They are blaming the government shutdown for this decision.

But it helps to listen to the GOP's logic, in their own words.

I asked northwestern economist Lindsay Allen to check out the USDA's site just yesterday.

Basically the whole website is just this statement saying, Senate Democrats have now

voted 12 times to not fund the food stamp program, also known as the Supplemental Nutrition

Assistance Program. Snap. Bottom line, the well has run dry. At this time, there will be no

benefits issued November 1st.
