The 2024 GOP candidate field is widening this week as Senator Tim Scott (R-S.C.) officially launched his presidential campaign on Monday, and reports suggest Florida Governor Ron DeSantis plans to announce his candidacy this week as well. As the list of Republican candidates grows, campaigning and fundraising will be sure to heat up soon. Filings show Senator Scott has entered the race with more funds than any of his competitors, with $22 million on hand, while the current leading candidate, former President Trump, only had $14 million in his campaign’s war chest by the end of March. Former Deputy Chief of Staff to President George W. A recently unsealed court filing revealed the FBI had improperly used warrantless search powers on U.S. citizens over 278,000 times, looking into Americans involved in the Capitol riot, George Floyd protests, and more.
