Communications Office here at the Parliament. And today we are talking about Gallic. With me is

Alastair Macallum. Hi, Kimmer-How, Stuart. I'm Alastair Macallam. I work as one of the

Officker and Lesser-Galik, Gallic Gallic development at the Scottish Parliament. Today we'll be focusing on Gallic

and specifically talking about the Gallic language plan that we have launched

and is still open for consultation. So we'll come back to that as the I guess

takeaway for anybody listening that has an interest in Gallic and would like to let us know what they think of the plan.

But let's start by just getting to know you a little bit more, Alistair.

So what is it that you do?

What is your role here at the Scottish Parliament?

Well, I think I'm a bit of a jack of all trades.

Gallic-wise, so the job's never the same every day.

Our main job is to implement the Scottish Parliament's Gallic language plan,

but we also do things like Gallic's social media.

We help the education team if they're doing tours in Gallic,

and if everybody's got any translations they need

or needs any advice about using Gallic

so it can be different every day and so one day you might be shown around some Gallic-speaking sculpture.

Another day you might get a request from an MSP about to translate something.

And I remember once, I was even asked for a translation of a bit of a Genesis song for a speech in the chamber.

So it's very, very different every day and that's one of the things I like about it.

Okay. So how did you get the job? What is your sort of qualification or how did you come to Gallic more broadly?
