| 0:00.0 | For those of you that don't know me, my name is Brian Underwood. I'm one of the founders |
| 0:03.7 | of Prove It. And whenever we found the company, you know, we started it about five and a half |
| 0:10.0 | years ago, but we did our first sale about four years ago. And when we started it, I was at a point |
| 0:16.0 | in my life that I've been an entrepreneur for 27 years. My back was against the wall. I had just come |
| 0:22.5 | off of a project where literally I lost everything. And when I say everything, not just money, |
| 0:29.1 | because money is the easiest thing in the world to fix, by the way, just in case you all |
| 0:32.6 | wanted. But, you know, I lost my confidence because of that. I had just recently got married. I had kids, |
| 0:39.0 | new kids, I guess I should say. So I had more responsibility in my life with the least amount |
| 0:46.9 | of financial security. And, you know, as a man, I just thought, I just felt worthless, right? |
| 0:53.7 | So my confidence was at an all-time low. And I was |
| 0:57.9 | very fortunate because I had a friend that believed in me. And the reason I'm sharing this with you all, |
| 1:04.3 | because I think the message is important during this time. And someone asked me the other day, |
| 1:09.5 | you know, what's a tool for someone that might not |
| 1:11.4 | have belief in themselves or they're just learning this? And I said, well, my back was against the wall. And I had a friend of mine saying, look, you got to figure out what you want to do. You've got to get back up on the horse. You know, you got to go ride again. You know, you can't just stop. If you stop, you'll die. |
| 1:27.4 | And I was very fortunate, and I say this, I've probably said this a million times, but people have faith in those that have faith in other people. And so I don't know what I would have done if he hadn't have pushed me to say, go figure it out. What do you want to do? What do you want to do? And at the time, the thing that I really wanted to do is what we're doing now. I wanted to have a conversation that had never been told. I wanted to bring value to the world. To me, I wanted to innovate. And by the pure definition of innovate, innovate is about bringing value to people that they didn't have before. So all of us on this phone, we've done that before. |
| 2:01.0 | All of us can be innovators. |
| 2:02.7 | But I wanted to build a business out of it, right, that could feed my family. |
| 2:07.6 | And in order to build a business, you have to make profit. |
| 2:11.2 | So the one thing that I knew is I wanted to create a consumable product because that is a fundamental business model that works, meaning you |
| 2:20.1 | have a product, we pay X to manufacture it, consumers buy it for X, as long as we can operate |
| 2:25.7 | the business properly, we can make a profit. |
| 2:28.6 | And the reason I'm sharing that with you is before I stayed in technology, we were doing |
