The war in Iran is proving a catastrophe for the US and Israel strategically, but let's not

understate the catastrophic impact it is having on the people of Iran themselves, who, of course,

as we're speaking right now, they're having missiles thrown at them, mass destruction of

civilian infrastructure. We've seen the slaughter of little girls. We've seen an environmental

catastrophe in Veloved Tehran as oil refinery is a bomb, terrifying stuff. That impact of that alone

will be felt for decades. I'm so glad to be joined by the brilliant Iranian American journalist

Nagar Moutazavi from from the Center for International Policy,

a fellow there, and also the host of the Iran podcast, which is a much, much listen, sorry,

a must listen to, but particularly in these hideous times. Thanks so much for joining us,

I want to talk about just the impact on civilians, first of all. And I mean, this is disturbing what I'm going to bring up, but I'm going to bring it up. Because what we've seen is

denialism being promoted by particularly the US and Israeli governments.

They claimed they were coming to the savior, to come to be the saviors of the Iranian people.

So you'd expect them to engage in atrocity denial of the sort that we saw during Israel's genocide in Gaza.

There was a, I'm not going to name the comedian, there was a British Iranian comedian here who used to be an anti-war kind of figurehead.

And he said about this, the attack on the school, which we know all the evidence.

I mean, we know it was the Americans who did it.

They accepted that themselves out of facto.

About 168 mostly little school girls killed in a attack on a school.

He posted, the Americans say they were near the area.
