Christmas is one week from today. Quick sidebar. Today is also the birthday of our granddaughter, Riley Noelle. Love that name.

Love the little girl even more. She's eight years old. She's my bug hunting buddy. He's not afraid of bugs.

And when we are together and the weather is warm and we see a bug, we'll do some exploring.

Riley, happy birthday, sweetheart.

Giving gifts is not my strength.

And I guess if I'm being really accurate about this, it's not so much the giving of the

gift, it's the coming up with the idea.

My wife, Ava, is a great gift giver.

She is so in tune with the people in her world,

with the people she loves.

And she always seems to find just the perfect gift.

The gift that says, I know you, I see you, I think this would be of value to you

last year for Christmas. You know, in retrospect, it was such a simple idea, but she knew me

better than I knew myself, ultimately what what this gift said she understands that

I love coffee I love that first cup of coffee in the morning she also knows that I like my coffee

hot not a fan of ice coffee not even a fan of lukewarm coffee I like my coffee hot. Not a fan of ice coffee, not even a fan of lukewarm coffee.

I want my coffee hot. And so what I tend to do is pour a little bit of coffee in my mug,

enjoy it before it gets lukewarm and then pour a little bit more in. Well, she knew that, she saw that.
