Hi, I'm Bobby Lee.

I am a historian at the University of Cambridge in the UK. I work on the American West and the 19th

century. My research focuses on US expansion and I look at it through the lens of US

Indian relations and specifically treaty relations.

And I'm Tristan Aetown, I'm a member of the Kio tribe of Oklahoma.

I'm calling in from Fort Worth, Texas,

my traditional homelands.

And I am today, I am the editor of the Indigenous Affairs Desk, but today is also my last day in that role.

So maybe when you're hearing this I'll be the editor-in-chief at the Texas Observer.

And I think it's worth maybe explaining a little bit about what the Indigenous Affairs desk at High Country

News does and what you have done.

I mean you've done some amazing work, not just with this story on Land grab universities, also you know not and not just with

writers you've you've you know commissioned artists you've commissioned musicians all kinds of

things for high country news and I was wondering if you could just talk a little bit about

the indigenous affairs desk what you've done you know highlight real what worked why other why other newspapers need to do it in magazines?
