This is after Congress failed the past its latest spending bill and only essential services

will continue until Congress can agree on a brand new bill.

And that might be a while, and Trump might like that.

Because in the meantime, Trump has announced plans that he is going to use the shutdown for his own agenda.

He's going to use it to cut government spending and get rid of a lot of government jobs.

They've been wanting to shrink the size

of the federal government.

They're going to use this for it.

Also, Trump has made clear his plans.

He hasn't hidden it by any means.

This was him right as the shutdown was about to start.
