You know, it saved my life over and over in so many ways.

Jade Curley is a transgender surfer.

And in the world of surfing, being transgender can often be an

But today, Jade is not alone. We're out here at Will Rogers,

and we have taken over this goddamn beach. Like, we have taken it over. It is a place for us to

shine in so many ways. I'd say there's probably like 60 people here. There's definitely a 10-foot

pole with a trans flag flying. We have a homemade banner that

says trans bodies belong on the beach. And it is such a nice day for people just to reconnect.

This event, after weeks of rain, is called Trans Surfer Boogie and Beach Day. It started like how
