Hey guys today we're talking about zoning your home and how it's such a critical part of organizing that so many people just

don't realize they're not doing. Hey Clutterbugs, Welcome back to the Clutterbug Podcast. Today we're talking about

Zoning Your Home and this is a really simple concept and it's something you're probably already

doing in your kitchen without even realizing it. Zoning is just setting up spots for your items

where you're actually using them.

And it's all about creating function.

So laziness, walking the least amount possible to find something and put it away.

I'm going to use your kitchen as an example because you're probably naturally already

zoning your kitchen and you may not even be realizing you do it but you probably have your plates and glasses close to the

dishwasher right ideally right above the dishwasher so you don't have to move

when you're emptying it. You probably have your coffee mugs right above your

coffee maker, or hopefully you do anyways. You probably have your utensil drawer again close to the dishwasher and your spices

your pots and pans are probably or should be beside the stove. It's all these

ways that you're setting up a kitchen for function to save you a few seconds here and there finding things and putting it away

But zoning your home, it's more than just the kitchen. It's your entire house should really be set up in this way that's just making it

as functional as possible because that's how it stays tidy. When things are

easy to put away you're gonna do it. If things are easy to put away, you're going to do it. If things are hard to get

put away, you're just probably not. You're going to leave things out and you're going to pile.

And rezoning your home is this really simple thing that you can do.

It's not about setting up Pinterest-worthy organizing systems.

It's not about buying new containers or labeling everything.
