I'm still prepping for the annotated Jane Eyre's launch on August 1st, as well as researching

Wayfair and editing Storming. Found out Dreamlander was honored with a brag

medallion and got a box of the Jane Eyre paperbacks which is always

thrill. The book showed up absolutely gorgeous, huge and complete with color printing on the inside so I'm still admiring it on my shelf right now.

It compares two different reading experiences, one which features a strong authorial voice

and one that didn't't and discusses the effect voice can have on readers.

How to Write a Negative Character Art Part 3, The third act.

In a word, the negative character arc is about failure.

And this becomes nowhere more clear than in the third act.

If a positive change arc is about redeeming self and the flat arc is about saving others,

then the negative arc is about destroying self and probably others as well.

The previous two acts have been all about setting up that destruction. The character has made choices,

but since they've all been based on the false foundation of the lie art character will

wrong decisions. Unlike positive art characters who

well make mistakes but will then recognize

and learn from those mistakes, the negative art character will refuse to even recognize his mistakes,

much less embrace opportunities to grow past them and rectify them.
