0:19.0	Duteronomy 12 is the start of Moses's second speech of the book.
0:28.0	If you remember, Duteronomy is Moses's last sermon to the people of Israel before they enter into the promised land. The new generation has grown up and before they take possession of the land without him, he is reminding them of who
0:37.0	God is and what his commands are.
0:41.7	This second speech is where Moses changes from general commands to specific commands.
0:48.4	He's going to get into the nitty gritty details, and when you get to this section of scripture it can be really easy to want to skip over it.
0:57.4	It's tempting because it's talking about things like sacrificial systems and places to worship and clean and unclean food, which can
1:07.0	seem unrelatable. Trust me, I get it. But the more we know about this section of scripture, I think the more we can learn and get out of it.
1:17.0	See, these next 14 chapters or so follow the order of the categories of the 10 Commandments. So here we have
1:26.8	Moses going through these larger commands and expanding on them to the people,
1:31.6	helping them to see how these big broad categorical commands
1:35.6	actually translate to their daily lives, which I think is pretty awesome.
1:41.3	And so while we may not have the same sacrificial systems and diets as the ancient
1:46.1	Israelites, let's step into these next chapters, remembering that these specific commands can
1:52.1	still show us patterns and expectations of what God calls all of his people to.
1:58.8	And they will always point us to bigger truths about God's character. So let's jump right in.
2:06.9	Chapter 12 section title is The Lord's Chosen Place of Worship. Now while those titles are not original to the text, they do give us a good
2:17.2	summary of the section. Chapter 12 is going to lay out where God's people are to worship.
2:24.0	It'll tell us specifics on different offerings there to bring,
