It is Tuesday, November 4th Election Day. You can hear the excitement in our voices.

It's kind of lame, isn't it? But we really do get excited about these things. I know. I want to like pipe in election music right now. I know. What does election music sound like? It's exciting. Whatever is it exciting. You know, something to that effect. Right across America, as you're listening to this, people are heading out to the polls

for statewide, citywide, local elections. Yes, it's an off year. Yes, it's not the most

important elections of the four-year cycle, but it's still actual people wielding their

democratic right. Power will change hands today, and it will tell us something really, really

important about the mood of the nation,

views of Donald Trump, views of the Democratic Party, and plenty more besides.

I have goosebumps. Do you all have goosebumps? I really can't wait. I've been looking

forward to November and we are here. Dash, there's a lot of different elections happening

today. We've been focusing on four of them. And I think what we'll do

this morning is walk our listeners through them one by one. Let's run it through. Okay. The four are

the New York City Merrill contest, the gubernatorial races in Virginia and New Jersey, and the redistricting

ballot in California. Those are the four you need to be watching for tonight. Let's start with
