0:14.7	learning what it looks like to follow Jesus by working our way through the
0:18.4	Gospel of Luke. If you were married to me you would know that I use one phrase way too much in a minute. I'm the kind of person who wants to stay focused on what I'm focused on so if someone interrupts me I inevitably finding myself saying to my daughter, to my wife, to others,
0:36.1	in a minute. But when I say in a minute, it really can range from about 60 seconds to 30 minutes.
0:41.7	Have you ever felt like God saying in a minute to you,
0:45.2	like you're asking for help on something,
0:47.3	maybe even something good,
0:48.8	God help me fight this sin,
0:50.4	God give me the strength we need
0:52.3	to get through this sickness, God, give me the strength we need to get through this sickness. God, please heal my child,
0:55.7	please heal me, this person I love. And it seems like God's attention is elsewhere. It's like he's taking his time. It's like he's saying, yeah, I hear you in a minute.
1:07.0	That has to be how Jairus felt with Jesus. We read his story in Luke 841.
1:12.9	Then a man named Jairus, a synagogue leader,
1:15.7	came and fell at Jesus' feet,
1:17.7	pleading with him to come to his house
1:19.5	because his only daughter, a girl of about 12, was dying. Now Jesus agrees, but on his way he's
1:26.3	interrupted by a woman who's been experiencing non-stop menstrual bleeding for 12 years.
1:31.5	She touches him and she's healed and Jesus stops this big
1:35.2	long parade that's going to Jairus's house to talk with her. And it's an
1:39.4	unhuried moment of tenderness, but we can only imagine how Jairus felt with his daughter on
1:45.1	her deathbed. He's probably thinking this woman's been sick for 12 years. She can
